What is a
CKD or CBD
A Certified Kitchen Designer or Certified Bath Designer |
- Is a member of an elite group of kitchen and bath professionals
with many years of experience
- Has passed a rigorous exam and adheres to a Code of Professional
Conduct maintaining the highest standards of professional knowledge
and ethical business practices.
- is required to complete Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
in a two-year cycle through NKBA
- Has extensive knowledge in building codes, construction, mechanical,
electrical systems and safety and environmental regulations.
- Writes specifications and draws plans that are easily interpreted
by plumbers, electricians and cabinet installers.

what styles fit them and will choose what environment will be
most livable for the client while tuning dreams into reality.
- In the initial discussions, the certified designer will interview
clients ant length to understand the challenges with the present
space and lifestyle needs. This is the time to share all ideas,
notes and pictures, as designers will help you sort out priorities
for your new kitchen or bathroom.
- A clear and complete proposal encompassing all of the work
planned is then submitted. The specifications should describe
in detail all construction work, cabinetry, countertops, appliances,
fixtures, etc.., as well as the work required on the project.
